This boat kit has already been produced by the Danish company in the 1980s.
While the scale and plans used remain the same, the construction box has undergone a major redesign and has been improved in many ways.
A new plate has been created and added specifically for the remote control equipment, along with many other enhancements.
All wooden parts are now pre-cut using laser technology, a manufacturing process that did not exist at the time of the kit's initial release.
All fittings have been reviewed and supplied to make this boat a high-quality replica of the traditional cargo freighter commonly used in the 1960s.
This kit has generated a lot of interest in the manufacturer's FACEBOOK group, which has 6500 members, and it is to satisfy its many fans that BILLING BOAT has remade the kit due to the enormous interest expressed by the group.
History of the boat:
The M/S Mercantic was built in 1964 by H. C. Christensens Staalskibsværft, Marstal, Denmark, commissioned by Per Henriksen and was the first ship of the Mercandia shipping lines.
LOA 48.01 m, Width 9.10 m, Draught 3.33 m. Speed 10 knots.
The M/S Mercantic was a traditional cargo freighter, a type that was very common from the 1960s to the 1990s.
M/S Mercantic was sold and renamed several times. In 2004, it was sold to Wade Group, Portsmouth, Dominican Republic, and renamed "Love Divine".
