The E-3 AWACS is easily the most recognizable aircraft in operation today with the unique “radome” and fuselages that house advanced radar and electronic sensors.
The E-8 features enhanced communications and command and control functions similar to but more limited in scope when compared to the E-3 AWACS.
Based on the Boeing 707 airframe, the E-3 AWACS and E-8 Joint Star pro theatre command and control of US and Allied military forces worldwide.

The new Minicraft kit features parts to build either the early E-3A AWACS with radar dish, or the E-8 Joint Star.
New decals printed by Cartograf offer 2 marking and painting options representing the following aircraft:
E-3A Sentry AWACS, 552nd AWCW, Tinker AFB, OK 1995
E-8C J-Star, 116th ACW, Georgia ANG, Robbins AFB, GA, 2004
