The M-ATV is a military vehicle manufactured in the USA by Oshkosh Corporation. It is designed to replace the HMMWV in combat zones.
The M-ATV has an armored hull. The TAK-4 suspension is fully independent and coil-sprung, with 16 inches of travel.
In addition to the V-shaped hull optimized for protection against the blast effect of IED explosions, the radiator and oil sump are designed to operate for another kilometer after being hit by 7.62mm caliber bullets. The engine compartment is also equipped with a Stat-X automatic fire extinguishing system. A central tire inflation system (CTIS) and run-flat tires enable the M-ATV to cover at least 48 km with two flat tires.
