KH32001 - Plastic model NORTH AMERICAN T-6 "TEXAN" 1956
The North American T-6 Texan is famous for having been the standard training aircraft for Allied fighter pilots during the Second World War. Known as the SNJ in the US Navy, the AT-6 in the USAAC and the Harvard in the Commonwealth Air Force, this aircraft was a huge commercial success, with 15,495 produced in all versions. It was used as an initial trainer as well as a light fire support aircraft. During the Korean and Vietnam wars, the T-6 was used as a forward air control aircraft to guide fighter-bombers. It was also used by the French Air Force for guerrilla warfare during the Algerian War, and for basic pilot training. The French Aéronavale also used it as an advanced training aircraft. In the film industry, made-up T-6s have often been used to represent Japanese Mitsubishi A6M fighters and other types of aircraft. This kit includes eight different decorations: US Marines, Royal Canadian Air Forces, Bundesluftwaffe (West Germany) 1960, Italian Aeronautica Militare, USAF, US Navy, South African Air Force, and Royal Air Force.
