This last Clipper and famous old sailing ship is now a school ship in service at Greenwich.
First built in 1869, she is one of the fastest known sailing ships in the world, sailing from England to China and Australia. Her architect, Hercules Linton, had the ambition to beat the "Termopylae" considered the fastest ship in the world. Her length was 85.34 m, her width was 10.97 m, her draft was 6.4 m and she had a displacement of 2,133 tons.
The box contains all the pre-cut wooden parts and fittings.
It also contains specific fabric to make the sails. The model maker has to cut the fabric and sew it to make the sails.
