Pinta was one of the caravels of Christopher Columbus with which he carried out an expedition to the Western Indies and mistakenly discovered America. In August 1492, he launched the expedition with three caravels: Santa Maria, Nina and Pinta starting from the Port of Palos de la Frontera, located on the southwest coast of Spain. After two months, the sailors saw the coast on October 12, 1492. Columbus thought that he had joined the Indies. The precise shape and dimensions of the boat are not known. According to the documents kept, Nina had a draft of about 100 tonnes.
